FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Learn more about the BeLingual approach

What is Spanish to Connect?
Spanish to Connect helps adults turn beginner Spanish into real communication. Through live classes, cultural insight, and guided participation, learners start using Spanish with confidence, clarity, and awareness from the beginning.
Who is Spanish to Connect for?
It is for adults and young adults who want to use Spanish for travel, community life, culture, family connection, personal growth, or everyday conversations. It is ideal for learners who want a practical, supportive space to start speaking, even if they feel nervous or are starting from zero.
Do I need to know Spanish before joining?
For Level 1, no previous Spanish is required. It is built for complete beginners or learners who only know a few basic words. For Level 2 onwards, learners should have completed a previous Spanish to Connect level or already have some Spanish knowledge.
What levels do you offer?
Spanish to Connect follows a progressive pathway from A0 / Pre-A1 to B1. Each level helps learners move from first interactions to more confident, independent communication by building language, communication skills, and cultural awareness step by step.
Are classes online or in person?
Spanish to Connect is currently offered mainly as an in-person small-group course in Colchester. Online options may be available depending on demand, format, and future group openings.
Where do the in-person classes take place?
In-person classes take place at Kingsland Community Centre, 86 London Road, Colchester, CO3 9DW. Car Park available for Free.
How long is the course?
Each level includes 12 live classes. Each class lasts 1 hour and 30 minutes, giving learners time to use Spanish, receive guidance, explore culture, and take part in interactive tasks.
How many people are in each group?
Groups are intentionally small to protect interaction, support, and participation. Most groups have up to 12 learners, although some courses may run with smaller groups.
What are the classes like?
Classes are friendly, active, and practical. Learners use Spanish through real scenarios, pronunciation work, cultural activities, games, reflection, and guided interaction. The goal is to make participation feel safe, useful, and human.
Will I have to speak from the first class?
Yes, but always with guidance and support. You begin with simple phrases, short exchanges, repetition, and structured activities. The goal is not perfection; it is to help you feel capable of using Spanish in real situations.
Is the course only about language?
No. Spanish is the vehicle, but real communication is the goal. The programme also builds confidence, listening, empathy, social interaction, communication strategies, and cultural awareness, so learners can use Spanish with clarity and respect.
Will I receive feedback?
Yes. Feedback is part of the BeLingual experience. Learners receive support and correction during class, as well as personalised feedback to understand progress, strengths, and next steps.
How do I get started?
Register your interest, check availability for the next group, or book a Discovery Session if you have questions before joining. The BeLingual team will guide you through your level, dates, payment options, and what to prepare before your first class.
